Christopher David Wright
Christopher David Wright of Charleston, WV passed away surrounded by family and friends on December 27, 2022.
Chris was born April 3, 1978 to Dave and Debbie Wright, in Parkersburg, WV. He was a graduate of Parkersburg Catholic High School and West Virginia State University.
He was extremely passionate about helping others. He was the first to offer a helping hand to any neighbor, and very much enjoyed his work with the Good Shepherd Food Pantry. He also enjoyed helping out the WV Kids Cancer Crusaders every chance he got, including helping to get the Inaugural WVKCC Golf Classic off and running.
Christopher was preceded in death by his father, David Vaughn Wright, his maternal grandparents, Vincent and Mary Lou Maroney, and his paternal grandparents, Bern and Juanita Wright.
He is survived by his mother, Deborah Maroney Wright, his sister Kimberly Earl and her husband Cody, and his greatest joys, nephews Dakota, Jackson and Wyatt, and niece Maddox, all of Charleston, WV; many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins; and the countless friends across the globe who called him Uncle Chris.
A mass to honor Christopher’s life will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday December 31, 2022 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, South Charleston with Father Dominik Baok, SVD officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until service time at the church.
Family requests you come dressed comfortably in your favorite WVU attire, or any Old Gold and Blue.

George S. Crowley
George S. Crowley, 63, of Gandeeville, West Virginia passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022.
George was born March 17, 1959, in Somerset, Pennsylvania to parents, James and Joan (Pyle) Crowley.
Raised in Charleston, he loved the outdoors, fishing & hunting and never met a dog he didn’t like.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Joan (Pyle) Crowley and James and Hazel (Snuffer) Crowley.
He is survived by his son, George and his wife LaGretta (Newcomer) Crowley; grandchildren, Elijah and Isabella; brothers, James (Pat) Crowley of Newburg, Missouri, John (Mary) Crowley of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Robert of Charleston, West Virginia, Michael of Newburg, Missouri, Dr. Robert Snuffer of Weston, West Virginia; and sisters, Joan Higginbotham of Odenton, Maryland, Stella Lewis of Charleston, West Virginia and Melissa Northern of South Charleston, West Virginia. As well as many nieces and nephews.

Ellen McCoy
Ellen McCoy, age 91, of Kanawha City, passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born November 14, 1931 in Tamroy, WV, daughter of the late Louis and Qunita Angius. She is also preceded in death by her brothers Johnny Angius, Junior Angius, Frank Angius, and Sam Angius; sister, Trace Sykes; sister-in-law Clara Nichols and brother-in-law Don Nichols.
She was a member of Kanawha City Baptist Church and retired as the head checker at Krogers.
Ellen is survived by her husband, Franklin “Pete” McCoy; children, Wayne (Carla) McCoy of Charleston, Carolyn Sue Devitt of Charleston, and Charles S. II ( Leora) McCoy of St. Albans; sisters, Rose (Jim) Hayes of Radford, VA, Mary (Harold) Webb of NC, Patty Wooten of Oak Hill, and Josie (Artie) Wriston of Oak Hill; brothers, and Jackie Angius of Oak Hill; sisters in law, Brenda and Sandy Angius six grandchildren, Elissia Devitt, Jeremy (Tressie) McCoy, Zach (Trinity) McCoy, Alex (Alan) Martin, Charles “Chaz” (Meen) McCoy III, and Ella (Garrett) McCoy; and sixteen great grandchildren.
A service to honor Ellen’s life will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday December 30, 2022 at Kanawha City Baptist Church with Pastor Don Toler officiating. Entombment will follow in
Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley, WV. Committal service will be in the mausoleum chapel at 2:45 pm.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services.

Linda Lou Mitchell
Linda Lou Mitchell, age 77, of Charleston, passed away Saturday December 24, 2022 at CAMC General Hospital.
She was born August 28, 1945 in Beckley, daughter of the late Roy and Chilla K. Sherman. She is also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Christina Carnell and her brother-in-law, Cecil Eller.
Linda is survived by her daughter Robin Mitchell (Richard) of Hurricane; son Scott Mitchell of Nashville, TN; sisters, Brenda Sue Barber (Bucky), who was her twin sister, and Kackie Eller of Charleston; nieces, Lisa Eller Stalvey, Kim Barber Massey, and Renee Barber Grinder; nephew, Christopher Eller; and great granddaughter, Cierra Carnell.
The family will have a private service. She will be interred in Blue Ridge Memorial Park, Beckley, WV.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff, at Stonerise Healthcare of Charleston, for the wonderful years she spent with them and considered them to be her second family.

Edward C. "Hank" Brenneman
Edward “Hank” Brenneman, 86, of Charleston, WV, left his earthly home on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Hubbard House West in South Charleston, WV.
Hank, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Kingmont, WV to parents Clarence “Dutch” Brenneman and Della Closson Brenneman on May 11, 1936. He was a member of New Vision Baptist Church in Madison, WV.
He graduated from East Side High School of Fairmont, WV. After graduation at the age of 17, with his parent’s consent, he enlisted into the US Navy where he spent 25 years. Early in his naval career he was promoted to Master Chief Petty Officer, 17 years of this time in the Navy was spent on Naval Destroyers and Aircraft Carriers.
After his Naval Career, he went to work at Bayer Corporation where he worked as Chemical Engineer for 20 years and then retired.
After retirement, Hank enjoyed traveling, walking and exercising until his health declined in later years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four siblings and a grandson, Dakota. Surviving him are his wife, Connie Mullins Brenneman of Charleston, WV: daughter, Robin (John) Dodd of Mt. Vernon, IL; son, Mark of Milton, WV; daughter Kimberly (Rodney) Hayes of Pinegrove, WV. Grandchildren, Ian, Eli, Blessing, Ella, Elsie, Miklin, Marissa, Abagail, Kerstin and Eliajh, and 11 great-grandchildren.
A Service to Honor the Life of Edward “Hank” Brenneman will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 12pm at Snodgrass Funeral Home, 4122 MacCorkle Ave. SW, So. Charleston, WV with Rev. Michael Pollard officiating. Burial will be at Donel C. Kinnard Veterans Cemetary, 130 Academy Drive, Dunbar, WV. Family and friends may visit from 11am to 12pm at Snodgrass Funeral Home.

Johnny M. "Mike/MJ" Jeffries
Johnny M. “Mike/MJ” Jeffries, age 65, of Charleston passed away Tuesday December 20, 2022 at CAMC Memorial Hospital.
He was born on December 21, 1956 in Charleston, son of the late Johnny Lee Jeffries and the late Deanna Joyce Daske. He is preceded in death by, brother Rick Joseph Hullinger.
Mike worked as a project manager for Mason & Barry Inc. in Scott Depot, WV. He has worked in the security system industry since the mid 90’s, where he had designed multiple security smart systems that help to keep our schools safe. He enjoyed spending time with and spoiling his kids and his grandkids, working on computers, visiting lighthouses, and even an occasional computer war game.
Mike is survived by his daughter, Sharayah Jeffries (Joseph Skeen) of Charleston; two sons, Shaun Jeffries (Stephinie Jeffries) of South Charleston and Joe Jeffries (Tracy Jeffries) of Palmetto, FL; Companion, Lou Weisberg and her two sons, Billy and Michael; sister, Hope VanZee; three brothers, Todd, Chad, and Scott Hullinger; six grandchildren, Dylan, Kaytlin, Trinity, Preston, Kalei, and Addalynn; and three step grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Sarah, and Jaxon.
A memorial to honor Mike’s life will be held on Monday, December 26, 2022 starting at 5:00 pm with a service to follow at 6:00 pm at Snodgrass Funeral Home in South Charleston, WV, with Pastor Will Basham officiating.

Diana Lynn Haynes
Diana Lynn Haynes, 66, of Charleston, WV, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022.
She was born on November 19, 1956, in South Charleston, West Virginia, and was preceded in death by her parents, Kermit and Mary Poling Fisher, and brother, Rick Fisher.
Left to cherish Diana’s memory are her sons; Will Haynes and Brandin Haynes, and granddaughter, Lilly Haynes.
Diana was a proud graduate of South Charleston High School and a long-time employee with the State of West Virginia. She was a “free spirit” who loved spending her life helping others, even until her last day here on earth.
A service to honor and celebrate Diana’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 26, 2022 at Snodgrass Funeral Home. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Veronnica G. Ervin
Veronnica G. Ervin , 73, of Teays Valley, West Virginia, passed away on December 12, 2022. For years Veronnica battled many serious illnesses, which included heart disease, plural effusion of her lungs, and a recent battle with breast cancer. She ultimately passed of a sudden heart attack.
Veronnica was born September 9, 1950, in Charleston, WV. She attended Stonewall Jackson High School and WV State College, where she studied Art and English. Veronnica was the Co-owner of Hamon Glass Studio from 1969 – 1995. Over the years, she become a renowned glass artist. She designed cameo paperweights, which earned personal recognition from President Gerald Ford. Her hands were masterful, working with glass rods to make delicate pieces. She used to create one of a kind floral designs, which were then enclosed in glass. She jointly produced large glass sculptures, including one that was the Alexis de Tocqueville award winner. Her love of art and glass continued throughout her life.
In later years, she was a legal assistant at The Lord Law Firm. There, Veronnica’s professional skills, and her caring and attentive ways earned her the love of many clients and coworkers.
Veronnica was an active member of the Newcomers Club in Putnam County, liked playing Bunko and board games, was famous for her cooking, and her ability to make people laugh.
Veronnica was predeceased by: her parents, Reva and Frank Mooney, brother, Frank Mooney, former spouses, Robert Hamon and Donald Ervin, and daughter by marriage, Diana Kay Rose.
She is Survived by: Her only child, Sharon McKeny Lord, and grandson Jack M. Lord, both of Charleston, WV; her children by marriage, beloved son Robert L. Hamon III, West Palm Beach, FL; Susanne Thomas, Cross Lanes, WV; Erica Ervin, Roanoke, VA, as well as a grandson she raised for years, Jonathan F. Hamon, Knoxville, TN; 2 other grandchildren; several great grandchildren; her only sister, Reva Jean Cummings of Hurricane, WV, other family members, and many close friends.
Per her direction, rather than a formal service, there will be a celebration of life. Friends and family are welcome to join Saturday, January 7, 2023 between the hours of 1:00 p.m. & 3:00 p.m. at the Fireside Grill, located at 439 WV-34, Hurricane, WV. Donations may be made to Putnam County Animal Shelter, 12908 Charleston Road, Red House, WV 25168.

Blanche Harrison
Blanche Harrison, 81, of Charleston West Virginia passed away on December 8, 2022.
Blanche retired as an employee from the Kanawha County Commission. She loved to spend time with her family. She had a love of reading and watching Jeopardy.
Preceded in death by her son Mark Wallace; parents – Armour Ewart and Nell Ewart Vogt; stepfather – Rual Vogt; brother – Edward Ewart; Sister – Viola Lane
Survived by her loving son Michael Wallace of Charleston, West Virginia; devoted daughter Janet Rivera of Pasadena, Maryland; granddaughter Allie Fuell (Brian) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; great grandson Kellen Fuell; and her caring nephews and nieces

Samuel M Femia
Samuel M. “Sam” Femia, 63, of South Charleston, WV, passed away on December 4, 2022 at
Thomas Memorial Hospital after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Sam was born on October 1, 1959 at Thomas Memorial Hospital to Joe and Evelyn Femia of St. Albans. He attended Blessed Sacrament Grade School and was a proud member of the Charleston Catholic class of 1977. After graduation, Sam attended the University of Charleston where he was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He made many lifelong friends during his time at UC where he graduated with a degree in Marketing and Business.
Sam was employed by Centurion Insurance of Charleston and was Secretary of the South Charleston Building Commission. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Sam was an avid golfer, proud UC alum, and well known Notre Dame enthusiast. Sam’s smile could light up a room and his outgoing personality made him a friend to many.
Sam is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Evelyn Femia. Sam is survived by his wife of forty years, Susan Femia, his daughters Samantha Seitz (Stephen) and Maria Femia, grandchildren Gio and Palmer Seitz, sisters Bobbi Ward (Richard), Mary Jo Paterno (Andy), and Frances Ellison (Jim), along with many nieces, nephews, and more friends than anyone could count.
A Mass of Christian Burial to Honor the Life of Sam will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Rev. Father Paul Wharton officiating. Friends may visit 2 hours prior to the service at the church. A private graveside service will be held in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston.
