Renee, keeping you and all your family in our prayers. We are just devastated for you. We didn’t know your Joe, but, will always remember the immense love in your eyes when you spoke of him. May God guide you down this difficult grief journey. Take care of yourself. Sending much love and huge hugs.
My heart hurts along with the family. He was the smartest man I knew. He took care of my son and I will never forget him. I’ve passed him in the hallways at CAMC for 30 years. Now, he’s gone. Nothing will be the same. We are praying for you all.
Deepest sympathy, love, and prayers. Dr. Joe was my pediatrician from 93 until the age of 18 and for the past seven years, my kids pediatrician. There never was a question who we wanted to treat our kids. He was always a kind, caring, and compassionate doctor. He made going to doctor easy and made sure as parents we understood everything when it came to our kids health. His word and advice was trusted without doubt or question. Mostly, he was like a part of our family for many years. Going to the doctors office will never be the same and he will be terribly missed. Until we meet again, Dr. Joe.
Dr. Matusic has been a customer of ours for over 30 years. We will miss him greatly. Love and prayers of comfort for his family, co-workers, friends and patients.
Rest in peace,
Staff of Sincerlt Yours and WV Message Center

Dearest Renee. Still, no words….you have been on my mind, in my heart and my prayers. Although always beautiful, after meeting Joe…you literally were glowing! Your smile became bigger and never seemed to end. The pride you exuded as you talked about your Joe was evident in every way. And just the same, his smile seemed to reappear and his happiness was unmistakable.
The millions of memories you made, although priceless then, will be cherished and give you comfort in the emptiness that lies ahead. The love shared between the two of you truly illustrates the way a marriage should be. Many will be forever touched by the love they watched grow stronger day by day
I love you and am always a call away
Love Tammy, Janet and Bella
So sad to hear this new and my thoughts and prayers are with the family and his staff. He was a great doctor who was wonderful with my kids and the office will not be the same.
Dr. Matusic was a God-send to my child several years ago. It was around Christmas and New Years when he got sick. Dr. Matusic was the doc on call at ABC and didn’t want us to have to spend the holidays in the hospital so he met us on Christmas Eve at the entrance to W&C so he could check on my kiddo to make sure he was ok. There were several times over the years I had the pleasure of seeing his care and love for his patients and their families but moreover, you cannot be in one of his patient rooms or even at the reception desk without seeing pictures of his family. God bless you all and you are all in my prayers. Rest in peace doc!
Sending our deepest sympathies to the family. When I told my son of Dr. Joe’s passing, he said “I liked him”. He always took great care of my son. He will be missed.
My boys loved Dr Matusic and I am so grateful to have had him as our Pediatrician. I am so sorry for your loss and hope you and your family can be at peace.
Sending our deepest sympathy to daughter Kelsey and the rest of the Matusic family.
Dr. Matusic was a great physician to our boys and will be deeply missed.
Prayers for the family, friends and co-workers of this wonderful Doctor who was my kid’s pediatrician (and they are now in their late 20s). He was always someone I knew I could trust with the most important things in my life (my kids). He always had time to listen to an overly worried mom when I brought them to the office. The medical community and the who area has lost a true gem and wealth of information in this man. Prayers for all.
Dr.Joe was a very special physician and was a delight to work with through the years at CAMC. He will be greatly missed by so many in the healthcare community. Prayers for the family and friends for peace and healing.
I have been seeing Dr Matusic for over 10 years for my flight physicals. Dr Matusic and his staff are the best. Just saw them in August. I’m still in shock.
I always appreciated our conversations about aviation and family. He was always busy but would take time to chat and address any concerns. I had a concern once for my daughter and Dr Matusic told me to bring her in that day. This is how he took care of people. I always appreciated that. We now have a huge void in the aviation community. He will be missed. Prayers to Dr Matusic’s family. May God lift them and comfort them.
Dr. Matusic was one of a kind. He always took time to listen and answer questions. Such a kind soul. He was my children’s doctor for many years. We are so sorry for the family’s loss.
I am so sorry to hear this horrible news. Dr. Joe was a friend and wonderful MD to my children for ten years. I also shared a set with Joe for 10 years as he answered questions for viewers with concerns about their children. Joe had an obvious zest for life and I am proud to have called him a friend and am praying hard for his family this morning. RIP, my friend.
For the past 14 years you had taken care of my kids-always called you “Dr. Joe”
I’m forever grateful for all your compassion, your understanding, your dedication and your love that you had for all your patients, especially my children. You were truly one in a million and the best pediatrician. I’m sending love, guidance and strength to your family.
As a friend and colleague, I am still shocked by the news of Joe’s passing . I am certain that his kids, wife and his family can never really fill the void that his passing has left . He was always full of life , smiling and telling stories . He trained me as a young physician at CAMC and was always so helpful, and so very smart. He loved kids – everything about them . He was such a great person to listen to parents . He always had kind and comforting words for them- he could make anyone laugh 🙂 I will always appreciate his advice on patient care, business issues , and just standing up for myself and my patients . He can never be forgetten in our community of Pediatricians .
I’m sure that Heaven is full of kids to look after . I will miss you Joe !
I have known Joe since he was a resident. So very sad he has left us at such a young age. He was an excellent physician and will be missed by so many. Love and prayers to the family.
Dr. Joe has been my daughter’s FAA doctor for the last three years. He fit her in for appointments and made sure all of her needed documents were completed. We are very saddened for his family and everyone. He and his wife would go to Marshall aviation events at the flight school and the last time I spoke with him, he was in the process of getting his pilot’s license and talked about flying with Renee, and the great time they had at the Oshkosh Fly In. I’m so glad we met them; we will miss him. Peace and prayers to his wife and family.
