Butch, I am saddened that I didn’t get another chance to see you here on earth, but I will see you again one day. I shall never forget the free rides that you gave me between Charleston and Huntington when I was a poor girl attending Marshall University. You were so funny and engaging, and I really looked forward to our frequent trips. I’ll never forget your dark green Chevy station wagon and how I always arrived at my destination so quickly due to your supersonic speed! I learned very soon to not glance at your speedometer! “Those were the days, my friend; I thought the’d never end….”
Your friend,
Karen
