Juanita Elaine (Rowsey) Diehl, age 100, of South Charleston, West Virginia passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at Brookdale Charleston Gardens..
Juanita was born in South Charleston, West Virginia on October 18, 1925 to Edward Lee Rowsey and Stachia Rowsey. She graduated from South Charleston High School in 1944. She met her future husband, Earl, while still in high school. Earl was drafted into the military and served during World War II (1942 until 1945). Upon his return home after discharge from the military, they became engaged on May 24, 1945 and were married on September 12, 1945. The family celebrated many special wedding anniversaries with them.
Juanita cherished the years raising her seven children and caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. “Nanny” was special to all of them. Her love will forever remain in the hearts of those she loved so dearly.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for more than 60 years., and a member of Saint Anne’s Guild for many years.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents (Edward and Stachia Rowsey), brothers Edward and Richard Rowsey, husband, Earl Diehl, and sons Michael and Christopher.
She is survived by her children, Monica Price (Roy), Timothy (Teresia), Cynthia Ewart (George), James (Julie), Thomas (Angie) and her daughter-in-law Annett Diehl. She is survived by 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren who were the light of her life. She was also Aunt Juanita to many nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial to honor the life of Juanita will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 12 noon. There will be visitation beginning at 11:00 am (one hour prior to the service). Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston, following the service.
