Jeannie M. White
Jean Carroll Martin White passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026. Born in 1944 in Wytheville, Virginia, she was raised in Blacksburg, Virginia, by her loving parents, Alberta Pendleton Raper and John Carroll Martin. Her father served as President of Farmers & Merchants National Bank. Jeannie was a proud alumna of Virginia Tech and West Virginia State University.
Jeannie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Weldon White. She is survived by her three loving children, Melissa, Virginia and Thomas; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and loving nieces and nephews whom she treated as her own children, all of whom brought great joy to her life.
In the 1960s, Jeannie worked as a bookkeeper for Coyle & Richardson Department Store. She later dedicated more than three decades of service to St. Albans High School, beginning in 1986 as a teacher’s aide and serving as the school’s secretary from 1988 until her retirement in 2017. Throughout her career, she was a steadfast advocate for students, faculty, and staff. She served as President, Vice President, and Secretary of the Local School Improvement Council and was honored as Kanawha County Schools Employee of the Year and Service Personnel of the Year.
A long-time devoted member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church, Jeannie lived a life marked by faith, service, kindness, and dedication to her family and community. She will be remembered for her warm heart, unwavering commitment to others, and the lasting impact she made on the many lives she touched.
Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
