Robin Murray Smith
Robin Murray Smith, 67, of Ivydale, WV, passed away on February 29, 2024, at Thomas Memorial Hospital.
Robin was born on October 5, 1956, in Fremont, OH. After moving to WV, Robin attended South Charleston High School and was a member of the football team and the graduating class of 1975. Robin was a car salesman for Moses Nissan, and in his free time he enjoyed hunting and fishing, cheering on his beloved WVU Mountaineers and Pittsburg Steelers, and going to estate sales and auctions, where he collected Mountaineer and Steelers memorabilia.
Robin was preceded in death by his father, Henry “Bud” Smith; his wife, Pam Gire Smith; sister, Deborah Smith Thornton; brother, James Smith; niece, Molly Smith; and nephew, Derek Smith.
Robin is survived by his mother, Joyce Hickman Smith of South Charleston; son, Jalen Smith of Ovapa; step-son, Dustin Payton of Pensacola, FL; brothers, Thomas Smith of Dunbar, and Jerry Smith of Clay; sister, Sharon (Roger) Collins of Prestonsburg, KY; best friend, Carolyn Dent Thier; granddaughter, Ariel Smith; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Friends and family will gather to Honor the Life of Robin on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at Snodgrass Funeral Home, South Charleston.

I still can’t wrap my head around Robin’s death. Robin was a great friend and my best buddy. My heart hurts for his mom, Joyce Hickman Smith. I pray his family will find comfort and peace in talking about the memories they have of him. Robin’s death was tragic and unexpected. He is greatly missed. See you on the other side, buddy…
