Frances E. (Atkins) Coleman, age 84, born July 23^rd, 1942 went to be with the Lord on August 28^th, 2026.  She was born in Spring Hill, eventually moving to Winfield, WV.

Frances is preceded in death by her parents Johnnie and Mary Atkins, as well as brothers Johnnie Atkins, Jr., sister-in-law Faye Atkins, Ervin (Buddy) Atkins, Michael Atkins, grandson Colson Pauley, and niece Suzette (Wilson) Bucklen.

She worked for Rite Aid Warehouse until her retirement, and spent the balance of her life with her family.

Left to mourn are sister, Mary Ellen (Leonard) Spencer, St. Albans., Steve Atkins, Huntington, children Denise (Jim) Cunnington, Scott Depot, Angela Copeland, Norfolk, VA, Lance (Katie) Coleman, Jr., St. Albans, Chris Coleman, St. Albans, Melissa (Doug) Canterbury, Fraziers Bottom.  She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She always wanted to feed everyone.  To come to visit, meant to leave with a full belly.  She loved each and every one of her family and I know each one of us has a special memory that was created with her.  She would have stayed forever if she could, but her body was tired and it was time to go home.

We may have the rest of our lives to miss her, but for her, we will be there in a blink of an eye.  We will be forever grateful that she was our mother. She was the best of the best.

A service will be held at 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at Snodgrass Funeral Home, South Charleston with visitation from 11:00 am until service time.
