Pattie Jewel Helmick
Pattie Jewel Helmick, age 87, of South Charleston, WV, entered her eternal reward October 14, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Billie B. Helmick, in 1974. She is survived by three sons: Rev. Paul and Kathy Helmick, South Charleston, WV; Mark and Dreana Helmick, Mt. Holly, NC; and John and Darlene Helmick, Hershey, PA. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Mrs. Helmick retired from the Marion County Board of Education, where she was employed as a cook. She was a member of Valley Chapel United Methodist Church, Pleasant Valley, WV, where she was a long-time member of the choir.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, November 19, 2022, at Valley Chapel United Methodist Church, and at 3:00 PM, November 20, 2022, at First United Methodist of South Charleston. Visitation with family will be two hours prior to the services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to either church in her memory.

Dr. Roddy Merl Conrad
Dr. Roddy Merl Conrad, 81, of Charleston, WV left this world on October 9, 2022. He died a sudden but peaceful death at home. Our hearts are broken.
He was born on July 29, 1941 in Davidson, Oklahoma and grew up in a farming community. He attended Southern Oklahoma State University for his undergraduate degree in Chemistry and the University of Southern California for his Ph.D. in Aeronautical Physics. At the age of 78 he completed his MS in Environmental Sciences at Marshall University.
Dr. Conrad was retired from Dupont at Belle, WV and Bayer at Institute, WV. He continued to do consulting work after his retirement.
Besides his loving wife of 35 years, Elizabeth, he leaves many family and friends.
A service to Honor the Life of Dr. Conrad will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, October 14, 2022 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Nitro, WV with Father Chapin. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston, WV.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Snodgrass Funeral Home, South Charleston, WV.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2219 22nd Street, Nitro, WV 25143.

Richard Elisha LaLonde
In loving memory of Richard Elisha LaLonde:
Richard Elisha LaLonde, age 66, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on October 6, 2022.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, the love of his life, Donna Fay (McNealy) LaLonde; grandson, Joshua Byrd II; parents, Harlan and Hattie LaLonde; brother, Roger LaLonde; brothers-in-law: Michael McNealy, Lance Smith, and Wayne Murray, and many others.
Richard was born on June 4, 1956, in Rome, NY, but was a longtime resident of St. Albans, WV. He graduated from Westmoreland High School (NY) and served in the Navy for 8 years. He retired after many years from the Kanawha County School Board. Richard was a very loving man who enjoyed reading the morning newspaper, watching his favorite shows, and was a die-hard fan of the WV Mountaineers. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and adored his grandchildren.
Left to cherish Richard’s memory are his adoring daughter, Michelle (Stanton) Lacy; grandchildren, Zachary and Josie Lacy; brothers, Dennis (Theresa) LaLonde and Harlan (Robin) LaLonde; sisters: Phyllis Murray, Dorotha Smith, Debbie Stockbridge, Rebecca McNealy, Beth (Vito) Spoon, and Alice (Nazi) Adolfi; brothers-in-law, Mark and David McNealy, and numerous other family and friends.
A service to honor and celebrate Richard’s life will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, October 10, 2022, at Snodgrass Funeral Home, with Pastor Shelby McNealy officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the funeral home on Monday. Anyone who wishes may wear blue & gold or WVU apparel to honor Richard’s love for the Mountaineers.

Donna Faye LaLonde
In loving memory of Donna Faye (McNealy) LaLonde, 63, of St. Albans, WV passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family on October 1, 2022.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Norma and Don McNealy, grandson Joshua Byrd II, brother, Michael McNealy, nephew Shawn McNealy and many more family members.
Donna was born on December 16, 1958. She was a St. Albans High School graduate and lived in St. Albans for most of her life. She was a very loving and beautiful person and had a very happy life. Donna adored her grandchildren, loved yard sailing, going to the movies on Tuesday nights with family and spending time with family and friends. She will be forever in our hearts and missed by many.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, of 45 years, Richard LaLonde, daughter and son in law, Michelle and Stanton Lacy, grandchildren, Zachary and Josie Lacy; brothers, Mark McNealy and David McNealy, longtime friend and sister-in-law, Rebecca McNealy, and many more sister and brothers in laws, nieces and nephews; special and longtime friend Connie Casdorph, and many more family and friends.
