Colleen R. “Connie” Sweet Louden went home to her Lord on September 6, 2026. She was born in Grafton, WV April 8, 1928 as Ruby Colleen Rogers. She graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School, Charleston WV. Connie married Hersey T. Sweet, Jr. and lived and lovingly raised her family in South Charleston, WV. She was a homemaker and a kind and loving caregiver and nurturer to many. Our Lord used her to care for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and many family members and friends. She enjoyed and was very proud of her 20+ years of volunteer service at Thomas Memorial Hospital making the animals for the children and pillows for those having surgery.
Connie was proceeded in death by her parents, Ruby Pearl Ludwick and Edwin Lee Rogers, husbands Hersey Sweet, Jr.and Charles Louden, Sisters Dortha Lee Mullins and husband George, sister Mildred Oxley and husband Cecil and their son Michael, sister in-law Martha Sweet Taylor and husband Abe , son in-law Paul Rogers and most regretfully her daughter Shelly Sweet McCutcheon and her son Hersey T Sweet III “Bud”.
Surviving Connie is her daughter Vicki Sweet Rogers, son in-law Michael McCutcheon, stepson John Louden(Becky) and stepdaughter Karen Childers (Gary) grandchildren P J Rogers(Tamra), Trina McCutcheon, Shannon Rogers Cochran, Todd Sweet(Emily), Jennifer Hall(Matt), Brady McCutcheon, Marti McCutcheon, Jessica Sweet(Kolby), 17 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
There will be a small private family gathering at a later date.
