William (Bill) J. Curry
William J. Curry (Bill), 79, of Winfield, WV, passed away on February 14, 2024, at his home with his family. His battle against serious medical issues in recent years showed his toughness; courageously facing life’s challenges with a smile.
Bill served 4 years in the Air Force, graduated from Morris Harvey College, and worked as a Child Protective Service Worker for 35 years. He met the love of his life, Judy, while working for DHHR, and together, they raised 2 sons. Judy, I am so sorry to read of Bill’s passing. I pray for your heart to heal. As my dear father told me my whole life; “Time is the GREATEST of all healers.” And no truer words were spoken by him. Miss you, my dear co-worker and friend. Cookie Shamblin-Woolcock
Bill was simply the best! I feel so fortunate to have had Bill as a friend and a valuable member of my work family for so many years. Sending much love and many hugs and prayers your way.💔🙏🌹
Sometimes it is easy to see why God places people on this earth. In Bill’s case, it was obvious that he was meant to be a child protective service worker. Bill certainly helped so many vulnerable children in a time of need. So sorry to hear of his passing. He was a great guy.
Judy so sorry for your loss, prayers and love sent your way. My GOD be with you during your time of healing. Psalm 34:18 “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
Judy and family,
I am sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. I have many fond memories of the time we worked together in CPS. I used to call him ‘Wild Bill” but he was anything but (although he loved a good prank if he could convince someone else to do it) One of the nicest guys you would ever meet.
