Robert Graham Casto
Robert Graham Casto, age 83, of Charleston passed away on Wednesday December 20, 2023 at CAMC General Hospital.
He was born on October 9, 1940 in Charleston, son of the late Virgil K. and Helen Way Casto. He is also preceded in death by his brother, John Paul Casto.
Robert was a graduate of Charleston High School, class of 1958, and earned his BA and MA degrees from West Virginia University. He worked at WKNA, WCAW, WXIT and WKAZ and retired from the West Virginia Division of Corrections. He attended Kanawha City Baptist Church
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Eleanor; brother Terry his wife Susie of Cross Lanes.
The family held a private service to honor Robert’s life with interment in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston.

I worked with Mr. Casto at the very beginning of my career, his office was right in front of the mail table. Bob was one of the few people who treated me decently during that job, and I never forgot him for it. In the year and a half I worked in that office, Bob was the one person I could count on to treat me like a real person. One of the nicest, kindest men I’ve had the pleasure of knowing.
Bob was married to my husband’s first cousin Eleanor. They had a long, happy marriage. He was a beery interesting conversationalist and an overall good man.
I have many fond memories of my cousin Robert. Our family summer visits were very special. Eleanor, may loving memories help you find peace.
