Carolyn Howard Stevens, 78, a lifelong resident of Charleston, West Virginia, died peacefully, July 17, 2019, after a short illness at Charleston Area Medical Center, Charleston, West Virginia, surrounded by her family. She was a woman of faith, courageous to the end.
Jerry (Miller) Lawrence, 82, of Mt Lookout, formerly of Charleston , passed away on July 12, 2019 in an auto accident, after having a great day celebrating his 82nd birthday at Summersville Lake with his wife, daughter and two of his great grandchildren, Ayden and Bryson Turley.
Robert T. “Bob” Anderson, age 75 of South Charleston, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday July 13, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Junior and Dottie Anderson; and wife Gracelyn Anderson.
Leo James Russell, Jr., passed away peacefully at home on July 7, 2019 after a well fought battle with melanoma/brain cancer. Leo’s competitive nature would have considered this fight with cancer a tie, as the cancer died with him and therefore did not beat him. His spunky fighting spirit and good humor will never be forgotten.
Chancer I. Hill, Jr. went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, July 4, 2019 at the age of 82. The trumpets have sounded to come home: “I’ll be there.” As he sung out on Sunday, ‘You are my Sunshine’ a smile of contentment shown on his face that when the roll is called up yonder- I’ll be there- I’m ready-my time has come!
Alma Mae Carter Cadle, age 97, of Kanawha City, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 29, 2019 at her home.
She was born January 4, 1922 in Fayette Co., WV, daughter of the late Robert Wilbur and Merle Gladis Carter. She is also preceded in death by, brother Hobert F. Carter and his wife Hazel, sister Phyllis Joann Burgess; son William Carter Dills; nephews Michael Lee Burgess and Steve Carter; niece Deborah Adkins.
Susan Lee Chapman, 64, of Dunbar, gained her heavenly wings on June 17, 2019.Sue was born on December 13, 1954 in Charleston, WV. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lillian Chapman; sister, Mary Slaton; brother, Robert Chapman, Jr.
William C. “Chuck” Foster, age 55, of South Charleston, passed away after a courageous battle with ALS, surrounded by his loving family.Chuck was a 1982 graduate of South Charleston High School. He served his country in the USAF. He worked for SPI and was currently working for the city of South Charleston.
Robyn Lynne Hyde, 60, of Charleston, WV died June 12, 2019, at her home in Mt. Lookout, WV.Robyn was born July 26, 1958, in Morgantown, WV to Marlene Dial and William Hamb.Robyn attended Charleston Catholic High School, then continued her education at the University of Charleston, completing a degree in accounting.
Mary Lou Barnes, 84, passed away at her home in South Charleston, WV with some of her family by her side, on June 11th, 2019. She was born in Kanawha County on January 16, 1935 and grew up in Kanawha City and Charleston, WV.
