James “Jim” Akers

James “Jim” Akers, 60, of Charleston died unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, March 20, 2019.He was born on May 23, 1958 and lived in Charleston for most of his’ life. He worked secularly in the coal mining industry and volunteered his’ time preaching the Bible to his’ friends and neighbors.

Edith E. Amick Massie age 95, of South Charleston, passed away Monday, March 18, 2019.Edith was born January 15, 1924 to the late Cornelia and Alford Sayre in Mason County, West Virginia.  She attended Stonewall Jackson High School and analyzed chemicals for Union Carbide. 

Kenneth Hudson

Kenneth Hudson, 75, of Pinch, WV died peacefully on March 15, 2019.Kenny Hudson was born on February 13, 1944. He was a graduate of East Bank High School, served four years in the United States Air Force stationed in Germany, and retired from American Electric Power Company after 38 years.  Also, he was a proud member of the AF&AM Salina Lodge #27 – Malden, WV

Jillian Loretta Bowen

illian Loretta Bowen, 27, of Charleston, passed away Sunday morning, March 10, 2019, in Virginia.She was the daughter of David Russell Bowen of Charleston and Candise Lynn Bowen of Sissonville. She left behind two beautiful children, Laraya and Jai, who will always be an enduring memorial to her beauty and love.

Dennis J. Wilson

Dennis J. Wilson, 69, of South Charleston, passed away on March 12, 2019 suddenly at home.
He was a 1967 graduate of Hurricane High School and retired from Dupont after 30 years of service. He enjoyed trout fishing with his boys and woodworking. “He could stop a person in their tracks with one look.”

William Donald Roy, Jr

William Donald “Junie / Bill” Roy, Jr., age 66, of South Charleston passed away Sunday March 10, 2019 at his residence after an extended illness.Bill was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer A. Roy; his father William & mother Anna Pearl Roy; sisters, Virginia Cook, Frances Lewis, and Jessica Lee; and brother, John David Roy.

Anna Cash Brown

Anna Cash Brown ,98, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2018 at Hubbard Hospice House West, Thomas Memorial Hospital. Anna was born on July 23, 1919 in Handley , WV to the late Charles And Flora (Morris) Cash. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, George grown Jr.; her daughter Flora (Brown) Hacket; brothers, Charles and Ralph Cash; sister, Helen Cash. She was 8th generation descendant of William Morris, the original settlers of the Kanawha Valley in 1774.

Joan Lynch

Joan May Lynch, age 83, of Charleston passed away Monday March 4,  2019 at CAMC General Hospital after an extended illness.She was born January 1, 1936 in Kentucky, daughter of the late Homer Rogers and Mary Elizabeth Elders Rogers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry L. Lynch.

Wanda Droullard

anda Giles Droullard, 87, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2019 in Charleston West Virginia.  Wanda was born in South Charleston.  She graduated from South Charleston High school in 1948 and began working for C&P Telephone Company where she met the love of her life and future husband, Donald Droullard. 

Irwin “Irv” Arnold

Irwin B. “Irv” Arnold, age 73, of Charleston passed away peacefully Thursday February 21, 2019 at Teays Valley Center after an extended illness.
Irv was born August 11, 1945 son of the late John Porter Arnold and Wilda Beach Arnold.  He is also preceded in death by his sister, Jacqualyn Arnold and brother, John Porter Arnold, II.
