Joyce Vickers, 68, of South Charleston, passed away on February 21, 2018 at Hubbard Hospice House.

She was born on February 12, 1950 in Charleston to the late Gertrude Walker and adopted by the late Louis and Mary Harper.  She graduated from South Charleston High School and retired from the West Virginia Department of Finance and Administration. She was the former president of the South Charleston Rebekah Lodge and volunteered for suicide hot line as well as for the American Red Cross as an instructor of first aid and CPR where she was awarded Volunteer of the Year in 1984.  She was an active member of St. Anthony’s where she sang in the choir.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Michele (Mark) Griffin and her granddaughter, Heather (Rob Gibson) Jordan.

A Funeral Mass to Honor the Life of Joyce will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 24, 2018 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Charleston, with Rev. Babu Joseph Elamturuthil and Rev. Mr. David E. Wuletich.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to Write Love On Her Arms, TWLOHA, Inc. P.O. Box, 2203, Melbourne, FL  32902.
