Beckie Fink Mohn
Beckie Mohn, 73, of Huntington, WV, passed away June 26, 2026, surrounded by family, finding peace and comfort on her own terms. Her insatiable love for life, fierce devotion to family, and boundless affection for children and animals domestic and wild, left a lasting impression on all those she encountered.
Born on July 16, 1952, in Charleston, WV, to Robert “Bob” Fink and Barbara “Bobbie” Holz Fink, Beckie grew up as a big sister to Beverly. She enjoyed an idyllic childhood with many friends in the Edgewood neighborhood. Summers were spent at the EPI pool, where she fell in love with swimming and competed on the swim team with her parents proudly cheering her on.
After graduating from Stonewall Jackson High (1970), she attended Concord College, and met the love of her life, Geoff Mohn. They worked as lifeguards at Pipestem State Park, which has been a cherished gathering spot for many generations.
Beckie and Geoff married in 1974, merging their families into a unified force of love that would anchor them for decades. Beckie was welcomed into the Mohn family circle, including a lifelong sisterhood with Geoff’s sisters (Mary, Roseanne, Lisa, Meg, Joyce, Gretchen), brother Mike, and mother Dorothy.
Together, they earned Master’s Degrees in counseling at Marshall University and grew their branch of the family tree with two daughters, Mary Ellen (1979) and Katherine (1986).
A career-long elementary school librarian, she combined her voracious love of books with her passion for education, always finding a way to make learning fun and engaging. She generously shared her time and talents as a master gardener, a skilled basket weaver, and cotillion teacher. She became known to many as she lifted her voice in the choir at St. Stephens Catholic Church and volunteered regularly with the Garden Club, Junior League, and the Ronald McDonald House.
She was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law Dorothy DelBene Mohn, brother-in-law, Dan McNeill; nephew, Kent Burton; and son-in-law, Mark Brown.
Left to keep her adventurous spirit alive are her husband, Geoff; daughters, Mary Ellen and Katherine; grandchildren, Anderson and Eleanor Brown; and sister and travel partner, Beverly Fink McNeill. She also leaves behind an extensive, adoring family of sisters- and brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless dear friends.
Visitation and services will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Ona, WV. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation at the church at 12:30 PM, with a Funeral Mass to follow at 2:00 PM.
In keeping with her spirit, Beckie’s services will be entirely kid-friendly. Please join us as we share smiles and celebrate the time we were blessed to have with her.
Snodgrass Funeral Home in South Charleston is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.

I am so sorry for the loss of Beckie. I met Beckie and Geoff on a trip out west two years ago and instantly liked them both. We became facebook friends almost immediately. My condolences to her family!
Sending love, hugs, prayers and hope to all of Beckie’s family and loved ones.
Rest in heavenly peace Beckie.
