Janet Sue Risk, 82, of Dunbar, WV, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Thomas Memorial Hospital.

Sue was born on July 21, 1943, to the late Theodore and Opal Keefer, and after her school years, she met and married James Risk and raised three wonderful children, Carrie, Scott, and Chris. Sue retired from Kanawha County Schools and was an avid reader, loved traveling with her friends, and enjoyed her beach trips and shopping in Amish Country.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Opal Keefer; and her brother, Theodore Eugene “Buddy” Keefer. She is survived by her loving husband, Jim Risk; her three children, Carri Tate (Douglas), Scott Risk (Toni), and Chris Risk (Christina); grandchildren: Emily, Ryan, Joseph, Elliott, Aaron, and Aiden; great grandchildren: Ian, Rory, Jefferson, Rosie, Reagan, Caden, and Chast; and her siblings, Jimmy Keefer, Curley Stevens, Iva Lou Burdette, Debbie Pauley, and Edward Keefer.

A Service to Honor the Life of Sue will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Snodgrass Funeral Home, South Charleston, with Rev. David Keeney officiating. Burial will be in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. Family and friends may visit 1 hour prior to the service.
