Charles “Chuck” Ross
Charles “Chuck” Ross, 73, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025 in South Charleston, WV. Chuck was born on September 19, 1952, to the late Leon and Wanda Ross, and upon graduating from South Charleston High School, Class of 1970, he married his high school sweetheart, Quintina (Tina) Coleman on November 4, 1972. They shared 47 wonderful years together prior to her passing. He worked at Appalachian Power Company/American Electric Power for 30 years in many positions prior to his retirement. Following retirement, he worked nearly 10 more years for the Peerless Block Company. His favorite hobby was whittling wood in his Piddle Place (aka: his garage). He loved to make “dingers” (wind chimes), bird houses, and various other unique items for those he cared about.
Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Leon C. Ross; mother, Wanda B. Ross; brother, Brooks G. Ross; brother, Gary N. Ross; and wife, Quintina (Tina) Coleman Ross. Surviving Chuck is his sister, LeeAnn Maxwell (Phillip) of Harrisonburg, VA; daughter, Monica Carter (& John) of Kingsport, TN; daughter, Allison (Ally) Ross of Charleston, WV; niece, Kasey Ross of Minneapolis, MN; nephew, Nicholas (Nick) Snyder (Melissa) of Silver Spring, MD; nephew, Matthew (Matt) Snyder (Sara) of Harrisonburg, VA; and grandson, Gabriel (Gabe) Carter of Emory & Henry, VA; and girlfriend, Patti Shamblin of South Charleston, WV.
A private service and burial were held at Sunset Memorial Park, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
