Shirley Hughes Blair, 88, of Charleston, WV passed away on August 13, 2025 in Leesburg, Virginia.

She was born January 17, 1937 to the late William Dane Hughes and Myrtle Butcher Hughes in Clay County. She was also preceded in death by her husband, E. Herald Blair; sister, Eloise Rock Puglisi (Vince); brother, Orval J. Hughes (June).

Shirley is survived by her daughters, Kathy Blair Sestak (David) of Leesburg, VA and Linda Blair Albright (Paul) of Martinsburg, WV; granddaughters, Lauren Sestak and Lindsey Sestak; grandsons, Nathan Albright and Nick Albright; nieces, Andrea J. Rock and Diane E. Rock; nephews, Andrew T. Rock, Steve Hughes and Jeff Hughes.

She graduated from West Virginia University and dedicated her career to education, teaching third and fourth grade for Kanawha County Schools.

A private graveside service was held in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston on August 15, 2025.
