Rebecca “Becky” Lippitt

Rebecca “Becky” Ann Lippitt, 98, of Charleston passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025.  Born on August 14, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Minnie Stump.

Becky was a graduate of Charleston High School and spent most of her life in Kanawha City, where she was a devoted wife to her late husband, Ted.  Together they shared 65 years of marriage and raised four children.

Becky was the heart of her family, always putting others before herself.  Her life was a beautiful example of service, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith.  She devoted her life to caring for others, especially her children, who were her greatest joy.  She was a constant presence in their lives.  All her life, Becky’s deep faith guided her.  She served as a church elder, helped with Meals on Wheels, nursing homes, charity drives, and Christmas gifts for children.  Becky loved backyard games, bowling, skating, and dancing – usually the life of the party.  Her sense of fun never faded, and she carried that spirit with her into every stage of life.  She found joy in her grandchildren and friends, reading, crocheting, yardwork, and flowers.  Traveling with her husband brought her joy – especially the many cruises they took.

Her love lives on in her children: Pam Cook (John) of Teays Valley, Christy Meadows (Dave) of Teays Valley, Jeff Lippitt of Cross Lanes, and Steve Lippitt (Joellen) of Akron, Ohio; grandchildren: Sam O’Dell (Leigh Ann) , Annie Erwin (Tony), Matt O’Dell (Lizzie), Kim Dyer (Bill), Tiffany Thomas (Matt), Mandy Gibson (Travis), Corey Lippitt, and Scott Lippitt; 14 great-grandchildren, including Trevor who preceded her in death; several nieces and nephews, including her beloved niece Debbie Greife and nephew Brent Wilshire.  She was preceded in death by her husband Ted Lippitt and her sister Mary Elizabeth Wilshire.

Her legacy of love, service, and quiet strength will continue to inspire her extended family and all who knew her.   She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, August 4, 2025 at Snodgrass Funeral Home, South Charleston, with Rev. Dr. Todd Wright and Rev. Dr. Amy Parker officiating.  Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston, with graveside service.
