Wilma O. Ellis
Wilma O. Ellis, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on May 24, 2024. Born on October 22, 1941, in Teays Valley, WV, Wilma was a dedicated and accomplished businesswoman and Realtor, with over 40 years in the industry. For many of those years, she was among the top Realtors in the state, passionately serving her clients and the community.
Wilma is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 54 years, William T. Ellis; her sons, Jason (Kelly) Ellis of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Damon (Kerry) Ellis of Charleston, WV; her step-daughter, Melissa Ellis of Charleston, WV; and nine cherished grandchildren. She also leaves behind her siblings and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Woodrow Eggleton and Margret Eggleton.
Wilma was a devoted wife and fiercely protective mother. She loved spending time with her family, traveling to Florida, and enjoyed the excitement of playing slot machines, often sharing stories of her winnings. Her generosity and kindness were well-known, and her legacy of love and dedication will not be forgotten.
A private burial will be held, with a celebration of her life to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Wilma’s memory. If there were more people like Wilma, the world would undoubtedly be a better place.
So very sorry for your loss. God bless Wilma and her loving family. With deepest sympathy, Bill and Susan Tate.

One of sweetest ladies ever. She was incredibly kind and a gentle sole. I enjoyed every encounter I ever had with her. Amazing family that she loved dearly. She loved all and loved by all. I am saddened beyond words to learn of her passing. May God be with this wonderful family.
RIP, Wilma! Living at TPE, I spoke with Wilma frequently. I enjoyed her sense of humor. Wilma was not a phony and I respected her directness. I always knew how she really felt. Wilma could answer any question I asked. When she talked about her family, I could feel her love for them. It won’t be the same not seeing Wilma at TPE. Condolences to her loved ones!
To Bill, Damon, Jason & the rest of the lovely Ellis family:
I can’t begin to express my feelings of shock & sadness upon hearing about Wilma’s passing. Wilma was a remarkable lady who devoted 100% of herself to her family, friends & career. You will be terribly missed & may your memory be for a blessing.
Bill, Jason, Damon and Melissa and the entire family. I am very sorry to hear of Wilma’s passing. My prayers are with all of you. I had the pleasure of meeting her when arriving in the Charleston area to start my new job and we became instant friends and she introduced me to all of you and also to many of her friends, everyone knew Wilma and loved her, she was such a kind person and she was always willing to answer my question about literally anything about the Charleston WV area since I was coming in blind to where to go for different things and I will never forget that. I think sometimes you meet people in life not knowing how long you will have them around, but when you meet them you know that they have made a impact on your life and you are better for it, Wilma definitely made a impact on my life and many others in the Charleston WV area with being all of our friends. Heaven has definitely gained an Angel that is for sure.
I will Miss Wilma so very much that is for sure, but I will always have the Great Memories etched in my mind and close to my Heart to remember the conversations, dinners and getting to meet Bill, Jason,Damon and Melissa. My prayers are with all of you.

Dear Bill,
I am saddened to learn of Wilma’s passing. She was a friend to me since my first day in Charleston, was my kids “golden grandma” at school events and was always so supportive. Like many in the kanawha valley, Wilma helped me buy and sell a few houses over the years—and I appreciated all her hard work to close those deals But mostly Jeff and I will miss her kind words, her warm smile and her upbeat personality that she shared with us everytime our paths crossed. She will be missed! We send you our love and prayers Laure Marino
I am so very sorry for your loss. Fond memories of Wilma when I lived at Terrace Park East and later when she managed my rental unit there. My deepest condolences.
We wish to extend our sincere condolences to Bill and the whole family for the sudden & shocking loss of Wilma !
She made her mark on this earth, lived life on her terms and was such a force in Real Estate & Life.
From the first of numerous dealings with her since 2008, right up to a current sale, we knew contacting Wilma meant things would start happening.
She joked she would stop working only when she stopped breathing, now she is making deals on the other side !

Damon, I am deeply saddened by the news of your loss. I pray that God will grant you and your entire family the strength.
My Most Sincere Condolences.
Warm, kind, genuine, strong, friendly, accomplished, direct, generous are only a few words I can use to describe Wilma. I feel honored and privileged to have met and known her as an extraordinary colleague in real estate but she excelled even more as a lovely human being. She made the world and the lives of countless people better for having been here and I know she’ll continue to inspire even beyond her passing. May God comfort and strengthen her family in the days ahead.
Bill, Melissa, Jason, and Damon
