Robin Smith Francis
Robin Smith Francis, 71, of Charleston, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025. She was born on December 1, 1953, in Charleston, where she lived her entire life surrounded by family, friends, and community.
Robin dedicated more than forty years of her life to education, serving as both a teacher and a vice principal. She touched countless lives with her wisdom, compassion, and unwavering commitment to her students and colleagues. Her legacy as an educator lives on in the many people she inspired and guided.
Above all, Robin was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her loving husband, Kelly Francis; her children, Kerry and Katey; and her cherished grandchildren, Maxim, Avery, Wyatt, Everett, Myles, and Merek. Her family was her greatest joy, and she poured her heart into every moment she spent with them.
A woman of faith, Robin lived with kindness, strength, and grace. She will be remembered for her deep love of family, her dedication to education, and her ability to make others feel cared for and supported.
A Service to Honor the Life of Robin will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Snodgrass Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service.

We have been privileged to be neighbors of Robin and Kelly for the last 13 1/2 years. Robin was one of the first neighbors to befriend us when we moved to Fire Creek. She was always working outside, mowing or weeding. But she always took time to chat with us when we would walk our dog. She loved our pets. She always looked forward to our cat, whom she referred to as Mr. White, or either of our dogs, coming over to her house for a visit. She was a treasure! I’m so glad we had the chance to meet her in this life, and because of her faith, we look forward to seeing her again in the next.
It was a privilege to work with Robin during my years at St. Albans High School. Robin was a professional who cared deeply for the students we worked with on a daily basis. I could always count on Robin to give me another point of view and to let me know when she thought I was not moving in the right direction. Robin always put our students first and in doing so touched the lives of many in ways we will never know. I’m sure she is in Heaven now telling folks to “clear the halls” and making sure things are running smoothly, she will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Smith was my kindergarten teacher, and was very influential in my educational outcome, she had had me tested into Kanawha County’s gifted program. That had a tremendous impact on my lifelong academic success, t’was such an enriching program, and I couldn’t even find the WORDS to tell y’all, her family, how very sorry I am for your loss. But I know that Mrs. Smith named her daughter Alexa and we were later Facebook friends, did something happen to her? I don’t see her mentioned here in Robin’s obituary, hoping maybe she just changed her name 🤞 it would be great to hear from someone in her family about Robin’s daughter, if you happen to be on here and read this, just a text would be great, my number is (959) 229-5206.
