Richard Thomas Anderson, age 38, of South Charleston went to his eternal heavenly home, with his mother and close friends by his side, on Sunday August 27, 2023 at CAMC General Hospital.

Richard was born in Charleston, March14, 1985, son of the late Robert T. Anderson, Sr.  He is also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Carl Hampton Wills, Sr. and Ann Greathouse Wills; paternal grandparents, Andy Anderson and Dorothy Davis Anderson.

Richard was born with a life of many physical and intellectual challenges, however through that he was able to have a life of enjoyment and loved by many.  One of his enjoyments was his father’s daily rides in a golf cart at Kanawha Country Club and his family taking him to South Charleston parades and festivals.

Richard loved music, church, eating good food, his home and celebrating special events.

Richard is survived by his mother, Treisa Anderson of South Charleston; brothers, Robbie Anderson, Sr. (Blaire) of Charleston, and Paul Anderson (Erin) of South Charleston; uncle, Carl H. Wills, Jr. of Charleston; aunt, Carol Hill of Ohio.

The family greatly appreciated Richard’s long time health care providers, Walter Dawkins and Maria Marotto.  Also, a special thanks to McKinney Family Chiropractic and staff and CAMC General Neuroscience Unit.

A service to celebrate Richard’s homegoing will be held at 7:00 pm on Friday September 1, 2023 at Snodgrass Funeral Home with Pastor James Wright officiating.  Interment services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday September 2, 2023 at Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday evening at the funeral.
