Mary Alice Conway Gentry, 98, of Charleston, WV, passed away on August 9, 2025.

Mary Alice was born on February 23, 1927, in Charleston, WV, to the late Thomas J. Conway and Reta Mehen Conway. After graduating from Charleston Catholic High School, she attended and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Seaton Hill College. Mary met and married the love of her life, Charles L. Gentry, and she was blessed to be a homemaker to Charles and her children. She was also a faithful member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Parish in South Charleston until her passing.

Mary Alice was preceded in death by her father, Thomas J. Conway; mother, Reta Mehen Conway; husband, Charles L. Gentry; brother, Conrad J. Conway; and her infant daughter, Elizabeth Anne Gentry. She is survived by her children: Mary Lee Salser (David), Charles L. Gentry Jr. (Joyce), and Katherine Gentry Ross (Tommy); five grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in South Charleston, WV. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and a Devotion to the Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be said at 11:00 a.m.
