Dorothy “Dot” Wilson Sutton
Dorothy “Dot” Wilson Sutton, 93, went to be with her Savior on May 16, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Wilfred “Willie” Sutton.
Dot lived her life dedicated to God, her family, and country. She was always a Mountaineer at heart, but lived in West Virginia, Germany, Ohio, Thailand, California, Virginia, and Utah while her husband served in the Air Force. In her later years, she divided her time between Ohio and West Virginia. Her strong determination and work ethic served her well throughout her life.
Dot’s world revolved around her family and her face lit up every time she saw them. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren immensely.
Left to remember her are her children, Maggie (Tom) Bateson, Pete (Teresa) Sutton, and Willy Sutton; grandchildren, Paul (Angie) Smith, Stephanie (Kevin) Cantrell, Anna (Josh) Lucas, and Branden (Taylor Augustine) Watts; and great-grandchildren, Dakota Smith, Sadie, Emma, Olivia, and Nathaniel Cantrell, Amelia Lucas, Betsy (James) Laws, Chase (Abby) Williams, Cole Porter, and Zayde Watts.
A Service to Honor the Life of Dot will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at the Oakwood Baptist Church, 855 Oakwood Road, Charleston, WV, 25314, with Pastor David Moutz officiating. Entombment will be in in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston. Family and friends may visit at the church from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m.
