Charlotte Clower Adkins
CHARLOTTE CLOWER ADKINS, 97, died on November 30, 2025, at Sweetbriar Assisted Living. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Fletcher Adkins, Sr.; daughter-in-law, Deborah L. Adkins; and grandson, Benjamin N. Adkins. She is survived by her sons, Paul F. Adkins, Jr., Richard W. Adkins (Barbara); daughter, Marilyn A. McGuffin (Michael); and grandson, Brian F. Adkins.
Typical of the Greatest Generation, Charlotte met her husband when he returned from service in World War II. They married and created a loving home for their children. Charlotte was a stay-at-home mom until her children were in school. She then worked as the Assistant to the Buyer at the Stone and Thomas Department Store. She enjoyed traveling with the Happy Traveler Group, which did bus tours to entertainment sites and natural wonders, and was an active member of the Porcelain Doll class, and enjoyed that art with many friends.
A Service to Honor the Life of Charlotte will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Snodgrass Funeral Home, South Charleston, with the Rev. Steve White officiating. Burial will follow in the Glendale Cemetery in South Charleston. Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service.
