Beverly Jean Pullen-Overton
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Beverly Jean Pullen-Overton, who left us on May 15, 2024, at the age of 89. Known for her spirit and unwavering strength, Bev was a pillar to her family.
Born on August 9, 1934, in Charleston, WV, her early years were spent in her family home on Kanawha Avenue in Kanawha City, setting the stage for a life defined by determination and vigor. She attended Charleston High School, where she made many lasting friendships that carried on through all the years of her life. She was well read, very interested in genealogy, and loved to travel! Having been to many destinations that grasped her heart, Greece was among her favorites.
Beverly was known for her passionate involvement in her family’s restaurant businesses, where her leadership and drive left a lasting impact. Her home was a haven of comfort, and a gathering place for family and friends, where her honest personality and quick wit brought joy and inspiration to all.
She is preceded in death by her sons, William (Billy) Sohovich and Edward (Eddie) Sohovich; and her daughter, Katherine (Kathy) Sohovich Peoples. She is survived by her son, Chester Heavener; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as her half siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life to honor her will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024, from 12 noon-2pm at Snodgrass Funeral Home in South Charleston, WV. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice in her memory.
Beverly may have left our presence, but her irreplaceable spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched. Her legacy is one of fierce love, and her indomitable spirit will continue to inspire us all. We take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, watching over us along side those loved ones who’ve gone before her.
