William Keith Adamson, also known as “Bill,” of Charleston, WV, passed away on November 24, 2025.
He was born to the late William and Joyce Adamson in Martins Ferry, OH, on January 2, 1952. Bill was also preceded in death by his brother, Craig Adamson, and sister-in-law, Barbara Reese.
Bill graduated from St. Clairsville High School in Ohio and attended The Ohio State University. In 1979 Bill began his commitment to help people achieve their financial goals by working as an independent financial planner with Northwestern and Mass Mutual Insurance Companies. He was also the past president of the American Society of CLU and ChFC. In 2005 he applied his knowledge and skill set as the Director of Rates and Forms with the WV Insurance Commission until his retirement.
Bill’s great sense of humor and quick wit endeared him to all. He was active in the community, serving on numerous local boards, including the Children’s Therapy Clinic, Stephen Ministry, and with Big Brothers & Big Sisters.
He was a lifelong Christian, who served as an Elder, Board Member, and his favorite, teaching the 2-year-olds Sunday School Class with his wife. Bill was active in River Ridge Church of Charleston and was a member of the Charleston Baptist Temple.
Over the years, Bill loved to travel with Melinda, as well as with his best friend, Judd Roseberry, and his wife, Chris. He enjoyed life and had unlimited energy. One of his greatest pleasures was working on his home with Melinda, applying his handyman skills, to bring new life to an old house.
