William D. Withrow

William David Withrow, (Willie) 81, of South Charleston WV passed away on Sunday July 21, 2019 after a long illness; he was the son of the late Arnold and Mary (Mullins) Withrow of South Charleston WV, also proceeding William in death were Brothers: John Edward Withrow of South Charleston WV and Gary Wayne Withrow of Westerville, OH

William graduated from South Charleston High School in 1957 and went into the Air Force, serving in Korea. He retired from the coal company Cyprus Amax where he was a heavy equipment operator.   He was a member of South Charleston First Church of the Nazarene for 52 years, drove the church bus for Sunday school and daycare, and enjoyed spending time coaching Little League, youth football, Babe Ruth and hunting but mostly spending time with his family including his Church Family.

William was a loving husband, father,  grandfather and great-grandfather,  left to cherish his memories are his wife of 62 years Kay Ann (Davisson)Withrow, Daughter: Lisa Ann Withrow at home. Sons: William(Billy)and wife Sarah Withrow of South Charleston  WV,  Johnny and wife Duwana Withrow of Nitro WV ,Jackie and wife Mary Ann Withrow of Scott Depot WV. Grandchildren: Johnny and wife Letitia Withrow of  Vass NC, Jeremy and wife Shanda Withrow of South Charleston  WV, William (Tony) Withrow of Nitro WV, Stephen Withrow of St. Albans and Parker Withrow of Scott Depot WV.  He has 9 great-grandchildren Aubrey, Grey, Zane, Piper, Ember, Malik, Thomas, Jameson and Jagger Withrow, Brother Jack and Wife Nancy Withrow of Xenia, OH, many nieces, nephew and cousins, also his dog Coal and grand dogs Duke and Daisy.

Services will be held at South Charleston First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Kent Estep presiding, with David Trauffer on Sunday July 28th 2:00 pm with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers you can send a memorial contribution to the South Charleston First Church of the Nazarene at 4923 Kentucky Street, South Charleston, WV 25309

    I am so sorry for your loss. Bill was so kind to my husband Victor st Lay Retreat and Campmeeting. I was so pleased when you came to Vic’s memorial service. I pray for comfort for all of you. However we can all rejoice that Bill’s struggles are over and he has eternal health and rest.

    From all of us of the Hall family (Poonie,Tyrone,Brian,Peggy and Cheryl ,we want to send our deepest condolences to the Withrow family .Willie was a great man.He treated us like kids of his own.Baseball games,picking us up and the whole Avesta Drive kids to take us to and from church and making sure we had money after church he would have a great big bowl of change that every kid that got off the church bus could grab as many coins you could take .He did that every Sunday!We loved Willie like a father,,Willie did not see color in people,Tyrone,Poonie, and Brian was treated like his son’s along with Jonnie and Billy.We all played for the Yankees.Him and our Dad was like brothers!!They grew up together as friends and our dad always told us to always show respect to Willie and we did.Willie knew all the Hall’s and Jewett’s and they loved him.Willie as he told us as kids to call him,not Mr Withrow will sadly be missed by the Hall family.Love and prayers to all the Withrow Family. We Love You All.REST IN HEAVEN WILLIE !!!

    It was so simple and joyful to hug Bill and kiss him on a cheek every Sunday at the church. It was one of my favorite Sunday morning rituals. Bill and his family supported me and Ivan tremendously in our immigration journey. We will be forever grateful to the Lord for our precious brother Willy. We will cherish every moment spent with him and his loving family. Bill will be greatly missed.❤️❤️❤️❤️🤗🤗🤗🤗🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️

    What a man Willie Withrow was. I had the good fortune of growing up around him at church. Seems like he always had a smile on his face. He was such a good influence. Always good to see him around the baseball fields, he always had a word to encourage. Sad to hear of his passing. Condolences to the family.

Ralph Steven Galloway, Sr., 90 of Charleston, West Virginia, passed away on June 16, 2018.

Ralph Steven Galloway, Sr. (Steve), was born on April 30, 1928, to Walter and Alletha Galloway.  His favorite pastime was fishing with his buddies and enjoying time with his wife, Edna, and his children.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Walter and Alletha, and 4 siblings, Walter, Vernal, Clifford and Viola.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Edna Elizabeth Latta Galloway.

He is also survived by his children:  Vera Galloway, Stephanie (Kenny) Clay; Ralph Steven Galloway, Jr.; Kim J. Galloway; Linda (Kenneth) Bridges;  Marcia L. Galloway; Melanie (James) Walton; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A service to honor the life of Ralph S. Galloway, Sr., will be held at a private service for the immediate family.
