Rosalene “Roslyn” Katharine Barnes, 83, of Charleston, WV, went home to be with the Lord on March 24, 2018. Roslyn was born August 17, 1934, in Norton, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lake Dickenson and Jessie Jones; stepmother, Mildred Dickenson; brother, Roger Dickenson; sister, Carol Helferstay. She is survived by three children: Dawn (Bill) McCleskey, Brian (Sandra) Finchum, and Loma Lynch. Five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. Two sisters: Margie (Richard) Pritchett, Paula (Ernie) Wagner. Roslyn had an unwavering faith in God. She was a member of Kings River Worship Center, St. Albans, for many years and enjoyed singing in the choir. She loved Southern Gospel music which encouraged and lifted her spirits. Roslyn dearly loved children. She opened an after-school daycare in Silver Spring, MD, in the early 90s. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. “Celebration of Life” service will be held March 29, 1:00pm, Kings River Worship Center in St. Albans. Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Cunningham Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to King’s River Worship Center, St. Albans, 777 Mallory Ln N, St Albans, WV 25177.     Rosalene will be sadly missed. In her time at the care home I got to know her quite well. She loved the Lord, read her bible and just about anything else about Jesus. I would always pop in and check on her during my visits. She was always smiling.
