Louise C. Ownby

Louise C. Ownby, 90, of Charleston, West Virginia died peacefully Saturday, June 30, 2018 in Chesterfield County Virginia after a lengthy illness. She was born December 13, 1927 in Mahan, West Virginia (Fayette County). Mrs. Ownby was the daughter of the late James A. & Lillian B. Cottrell, the widow of Charles R. Ownby, Sr. and predeceased by brothers Damon, James (Jim), Ray, Arnold, and Thomas Cottrell and sisters Marie Rojas, Frances Reese, Edna (Arretta) Kight, and Annette (Ann) Jensen.

Millie Mae Lowe

Millie Mae Lowe, 82, of Charleston, was suddenly called home to be with the Lord on June 27, 2018. Millie was born August 31, 1935 to the late Irvin and Alma Fields and was retired from Michael’s Drug as a pharmacist tech for 20 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Wilson Lowe; grandson, Elliot Lowe.

Roy Jack Haynes

Roy Jack Haynes, 87, of South Charleston, passed away on June 26, 2018 at Hubbard Hospice House.

Jack retired from Bell Atlantic with 38 years of service.  He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and attended Dunbar Baptist Church.  He loved traveling especially to Myrtle Beach and the mountains.

Mary Louise Jackson

Mary Louise Jackson, 97, of South Charleston, passed away on June 21, 2018 at Fitzwater’s Assisted Living in Fairmont, WV. She is the oldest member of First United Methodist Church of South Charleston where she had served as a Kindergarten Teacher and held many offices during her lifetime membership.  She was an active member of the Charleston Women’s Club and Montrose Garden Club.

Raymond Edward “Tadpole” Harless

Raymond Edward “Tadpole” Harless, 89, of Marmet went home to be with the Lord on June 21, 2018. He was born September 30, 1928 in Burnwell, West Virginia. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mona and Clyde Stone, brother Wallace Walker and daughter-in-law Jane Burnside Harless. Tadpole is survived by the love of his life Erma Jean (Bane). Married in 1950, this November they would have celebrated 68 years of marriage.

Ralph Steven Galloway, Sr.

Ralph Steven Galloway, Sr., 90 of Charleston, West Virginia, passed away on June 16, 2018. Ralph Steven Galloway, Sr. (Steve), was born on April 30, 1928, to Walter and Alletha Galloway. His favorite pastime was fishing with his buddies and enjoying time with his wife, Edna, and his children.

Walter Blaine Dial

Walter Blaine Dial, Jr., of Charleston, West Virginia, passed away June 10, 2018 with his three daughters by his side. Born September 23, 1924 in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, he was the third child and only son of Walter Blaine and Lesta Hollis Dial.  In 1942, Walt joined the U.S. Navy and served on a submarine during World War II.  When the war ended, he remained with the Navy for six months to study more advanced, captured German submarines.

Elizabeth Suzan Yancey

Elizabeth Suzan Yancey, also known as Tootsie, 83, of Charleston passed away unexpectedly at home on June 8, 2018. She was born in Bluefield, WV to the late Charles Buffalo and Elizabeth Virginia Nagy Knowles.  She graduated from Bluefield High School and Morris Harvey College, obtaining her Master’s Degree in Education.

Martha Katherine Aden Bollinger

Martha Katherine Aden Bollinger, 81 of Charleston passed away June 9, 2018 at CAMC Memorial Hospital. Marty was a 1955 graduate of Charleston High School and was a graduate of Charleston School of Commerce.  She worked as a legal secretary in Charleston for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, James P. and Mary Louise Renick Aden; sister, Edna Carleene Sneed, and brother, James P. “Sonny” Aden.
