Jo Ann Bratton Fields

Jo Ann Bratton Fields, age 84, of South Charleston passed away Monday February 4, 2019 at CAMC Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
She was born April 1, 1934 in Malden, WV, daughter of the late Kelly Willard and Lucy Ann McDaniel Bratton.  She is also preceded in death by her husband, Richard; and a brother Kelly Willard Bratton, Jr.

Evelyn S. Bess

Evelyn Selbe Bess, 96, of Winfield, formerly of Spring Hill, passed away on January 30, 2019 at Broadmore Senior Living of Teays Valley. 
She was born in Blount, WV to the late Lester Selbe and Icy Mae Entzminger Selbe. She graduate from Dupont High School and received her ART certificate from Ohio State.  

Helen Jane Burgy

Helen Jane Burgy, age 79, of South Charleston passed away peacefully on Thursday January 24, 2019 at Hubbard Hospice House. Helen was born in Ashford, daughter of the late Robert and Mary Perry Dangerfield.  She is also preceded in death by her husband John.  She is also preceded in death by her siblings, Anna Chandler, Kermit Dangerfield, Reba Rzan, Kathryn Barker,Charles Dangerfield, Elma Abbott, Dean Dangerfield, Alice Zenizek, Nesbeth Harless and Doug Dangerfield.

Dovie Parks Starcher

Dovie Parks Starcher, 88, of Charleston, passed away on January 21, 2019. Dovie was a generous, loving lady with family, friends and strangers.  She worked in private health care well into her 80’s and never lost her great sense of humor or keen intelligence no matter what obstacles life put in her way.

Mark Anderson

Mark Edward Anderson of Charleston died after a courageous battle with cancer on January 10, 2019.  Born March 20, 1959 in Weirton to Charlie and Susan Anderson; Mark was the second born of five children.  He was a 1977 graduate of Charleston High School.

Wanda June Miller

Wanda June Miller, 89, of South Charleston passed away peacefully Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Hubbard Hospice House while surrounded by her family.
Wanda was born January 5, 1930, in Charleston. She met and married her husband, Richard “Dick” Miller, at age 16 on July 27, 1946. They had been married 65 years when he passed away on April 22, 2012. Together they raised two fine sons, Richard “Junior” and John Miller. They have five granddaughters, 11 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Helen Wyatt

Helen Ruth Bailey Wyatt died January 1, 2019. Her husband of sixty-five years, William Ervin Wyatt, predeceased her in 2004.
Born August 10, 1922, in Clarksburg, WV, she was the daughter of the late Clive Vernon Bailey and Mildred Bonita Beatty Bailey. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine June Bailey Simms and Carol Jo Bailey McMillian, and sister-in-law, Kathryn Adams Bailey.

Woodrow W. Ball, Jr.

Woodrow W. “Woody” Ball, Jr., age 77, of Poca, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday December 29, 2018 at Thomas Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Ft. Knox, KY, son of the late Woodrow W. Ball, Sr. and Eileen Mayo Berry Ball.  He is also preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Scott Earl Ball; sister, Susan Eileen and her husband, Curtis Smith; two grandchildren Charlie and Jennifer Arthur.

Ray Messinger

Ray Messinger, 85, went to his eternal home on Thursday, December 27, 2018. Ray was one of nine children born to George and Rosa Messinger in Branchland, WV.
