Melody “Kim” Pauley Westover, 59, of Charleston, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2019 from sudden complications of a chronic illness.

She was born in Charleston to the late Kenneth and Lois Pauley.  She was a 1977 graduate of Charleston High School where she was a member of the band and a majorette. She was a member of South Charleston First Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed painting and drawing and had a God given gift to create intimate and exquisite pictures of Jesus Christ and angels.  She also enjoyed gardening and caring for all the plants she had and was especially fond of her flowers.  Kim loved spending time with her family and baking for them, she loved her family fiercely.  She had a big heart and helped anyone she could. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Thomas; sisters, Terri Slate and Sherry Slate.

Kim is survived by her husband, Dennis Westover of Charleston; daughters, Jennifer (Stephen) Watkins of Kettering, Ohio, Tiffany Thomas of Charleston, Ashley Thomas (William) Busch of South Carolina, and Britney Rucker of Cabin Creek; grandchildren, Jordan Watkins, Connor Watkins, Kamaya Cogar, Peyton Busch, Jax DeRaimo, Cyrus DeRaimo, and Maddox DeRaimo; ex-husband, Jeffrey Thomas of Charleston; a niece and nephew; and many cousins; she is also survived by her Cat, Sophie whom she loved very much.

A Service to Honor the Life of Melody “Kim” Pauley Westover will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at South Charleston First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Kent Estep officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston. Family and Friends may visit two hours prior to the service at the church.

Memories of Kim may be shared by visiting and selecting the obituary. Snodgrass Funeral Home is assisting the family with these arrangements.

    Kim was my cousin. My dad was Kim’s uncle. We had not seen each other for many years, but I remember how kind she was to me when we would visit from Indiana. Praying for all of you to find peace and healing. RIH my beautiful cousin.
