Marie Antoinette LeBleu Jones

Marie Antoinette LeBleu Jones, 81, of St. Albans, went home to be with the Lord on March 18, 2018 at Hubbard Hospice House West in South Charleston.  She made her journey peacefully surrounded by her loving family.  Marie was born March 13, 1937 in Charleston and was a lifelong resident of St. Albans.  She was a graduate of St. Albans High School, Class of 1955.  Marie worked for C&P Telephone Company in the late 1950’s and for Abney Street Church of God as an Administrative Assistant for 20+ years.  But, the job that Marie was most proud of was being a wife and stay-at-home mom.

Marie was preceded in death by her father, Albertus Young LeBleu; her mother, Norena Vivian DeHart LeBleu; her son, Glenn Edward Jones; her loving husband, Samuel Oren Jones; her sisters Joanne LeBleu White and Jennie LeBleu Young; and her nephew Link Young.

Marie is survived by her son Clifford Wayne Jones (Rebekah) of Charles Town, WV and her daughter Vivien Lynne Bowyer (Dana) of St. Albans.  Marie had five grandchildren: Nathan Jones (Joscelyn) of Hoschton, GA; Jacob Jones of Charles Town; Jana Bressler (Nate) of Charles Town; Hannah Fredrick (Benjamin) of Huntington; and Sam Bott of Pittsburgh, PA; as well as one great-grandchild, James Fredrick of Huntington.  Marie was also survived by nieces Polly Downey (David) of St. Albans; Sherry Strother (Gene) of Chesapeake, VA; David Young (Robin) of St. Albans; Karen Duffy (Michael) of St. Albans; Alice Lezu (Michael) of Tarboro, NC; and Tracy McGrath (Joe) of St. Albans.

A Celebration to Honor the Life of Marie will be held 2-4 pm Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Hansford Senior Center, St. Albans, WV.

    Vivian and Clifford and family my deepest sympathy is with you at this most difficult time. Hang on to those memories even the ones when we all got in trouble… Lean on each other and Denver God has got all of you and with each new day you will get thru.

    I went to St Albans High School with Marie. And I remember her playing crossword puzzles anytime we had a break from the classroom. She must have been very good. My condolences to her family at this difficult time.
