Louise Ryder Burdette, 90, of South Charleston passed away on Saturday March 3, 2018 at Broadmore Senior Living, Hurricane.

Louise was a member of Charleston First Church of the Nazarene for over 70 years, active in the travel groups.  She was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School and a former employee of C & P Telephone and Kiddie College Daycare at South Charleston First Church of the Nazarene.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Charles Lee Burdette; parents Charles and Nettie Ballard Ryder and her four sisters.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna Burdette of Dunbar and Angie Farha (Kim) of Scott Depot; son, Charles “Bo”  Burdette (Debbie) of St. Albans; granddaughter, Alana Maffessanti (Julie Taylor) of Topsail Island, NC and grandsons, Brent Burdette of St. Albans, Christopher Farha and Michael Farha of Scott Depot; great grandchildren, Eli Hamilton and Lauryn Baker.   Louise is also survived by many beloved Nieces and Nephews.

A service to honor the life of Louise Ryder Burdette will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday March 8, 2018 at Snodgrass Funeral Home, South Charleston with Pastor Randy Lanham and Dr. Harold Smith officiating.  Burial will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.  Family and friends may visit from 4 to 6 PM on Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Hospice Care, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. W.  Charleston, WV 25387.

    I remember Louise from church and she was such a sweet lady. I haven’t seen her in years, but I still remember her sweet smile. My condolences to the family. My aunt Phyllis was a good friend of hers and back in the 70’s I was very involved in the church and the choir and she was always in attendance..

    Much love and many prayers, Angie, Kim, Chris, and Michael. I know what it is to lose a mom. There is nothing to compare with that kind of grief. Time and the Lord will heal the wounds and make it easier. Isn’t it a blessing that you got to enjoy her for 90 YEARS!
