Clemmie E. "Sis" Shamblin

Clemmie  “Sis” Anderson Shamblin, 89, of Dunbar passed away on August 28th. She was a most loving and giving person even in leaving this earth as she donated her body to the WVU School of Medicine. She was a Baker and Cook at CAMC Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Kanawha County Schools for 30 years as well as a Granny at Dunbar Primary School for 15 years after retirement.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Isiah Paul Shamblin; father, Walter McKinley Anderson; mother, Sabie Lee (Forester) Anderson; brothers, Calvin (Jack) and Walter (June) Anderson; sister, Lillie (Tiny) Anderson; great grandson, Henry Christopher Shamblin.

Left to cherish her memory and follow her life lessons are daughter, Patti Shamblin; sons, Paul “Joe” Shamblin and Michael “Dennie” Shamblin; grandchildren, Joshua (Jill) Winnell, Jeromy Winnell, Daniel (Coco) Winnell, Dr. Clayton (Sara) Shamblin and Paul Shamblin; great grandchildren, Baleigh, Emma and Sydnie Winnell, Caleb and Keegan Winnell, Stella Winnell and Everett Pope Shamblin.

A celebration of her life will be held at 7 pm, Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Snodgrass Funeral Home in South Charleston with George Webb officiating. Family and friends may visit from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to HospiceCare, 1606 Kanawha Blvd., W., Charleston, WV  25387-2536.

    This lovely lady has the legacy of a beautiful family. We pray that the memories and the lessons will continue to be treasured for years to come. We are grateful to have met her at the wedding. So glad little Henry has another great grandma with him in heaven. God bless you as you say goodbye for now but look forward to the heavenly reunion.
